Hi Darling,

How is acceptance of a loved one vs. overlooking bad behavior different?

I know, it should be obvious, but sometimes it isn’t. Occasionally we gloss over bad behavior with all kinds of excuses instead of holding the person accountable.

“Oh, they didn’t mean it.” or “They are tired.”  Instead of actually asking the person, “What did you mean?” or “Are you tired?”,  we make assumptions and then excuses.

I believe we should  ask the important questions, right then.  It doesn’t have to be an argument… just an inquiry.  Then we can know what’s really going on for a friend or loved one and offer loving kindness instead of anger.
